When I was a child, I loved to play make-believe. I would pretend to be a housewife with a white picket fence or an office worker. But as an adult, my real life is far from make-believe. I have a husband and two kids, and after work, I’m always in a rush to cook dinner for my family.
Despite my efforts, I still feel like I’m not spending enough time with them. Finding a balance between work and my personal life is challenging for me, as I often feel torn between the need to earn a living and the desire to spend time with my family.
To save money and spend more time with our family, my husband and I chose affordable hobbies that we could do at home. He found solace in woodworking, while I focused on saving money. Together, we worked on creating our signature matching sets, which became a joint project and a practical solution to save time and money in the kitchen.
We wanted to create something that would save us time in the kitchen, and after a few failed attempts, we decided to simplify. Our matching sets were born — made with locally harvested wood and two different wood species to make them unique. We have 2, 3, and 4-Piece sets. Each set includes a matching cutting board and serving tray, and a matching wine carrier and coaster set can be added.
We use our matching sets for all of our family gatherings, from holiday dinners to barbecues, as well as occasional gatherings with friends and family. What’s more, they double as table decorations, saving us money while adding an elegant touch to our dining table.
Our matching sets serve as a reminder that finding affordable hobbies and working together as a family can lead to creative solutions that make life easier and more enjoyable. It’s amazing how something as simple as a matching set can be a game-changer in our busy lives.
